Professor Nancy Devlin is Professor of Health Economics at the University of Melbourne, and Senior Fellow at the Office of Health Economics, London. She was Director of Research at OHE from 2009 – 2019 and, prior to that, Head of the Department of Economics and Professor of Health Economics at City University of London. Nancy was 2019-2020 President of ISPOR and is past president of the EuroQol Group which developed the EQ-5D. Her principal areas of research are the measurement and valuation of patient reported outcomes; and the cost effectiveness thresholds used in making judgements about value for money. Her publications include the books ‘Economic Analysis in Health Care’; ‘Using Patient Reported Outcomes to Improve Health Care’; and (published in 2020) ‘Methods for Analysing and Reporting EQ-5D Data’. She is currently leading a large programme of research in Australia (QUOKKA) to improve methods for measuring and valuing the quality of life in children. Her latest book, Value sets for EQ-5D-5L: A compendium, comparative review & user guide, will be published by Springer in 2022.
